Managing Estates During the Construction Phase

When you move onto a new development that’s still under construction, you might notice that the Residents Management Company (RMC) is still under the developer’s control. This is perfectly normal. It’s set up this way to make sure the estate is properly managed while homes are still being built and sold.

But you still have a voice...

Just because the developer might still be the final decision maker — as they are the current Directors of your RMC — doesn’t mean residents are powerless. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

  • Preim manages the day-to-day running of your estate on behalf of the RMC, while the developer, as Directors, makes the key decisions during this early phase.
  • To ensure residents are involved from the start, we help set up residents committees (or steering groups). These groups give you a direct say on budgets, maintenance choices, and how your estate is managed.
  • In practice, developers almost always go along with what resident groups want, unless there’s a major reason not to — after all, they want happy residents and a thriving community too.
  • This means your views and priorities are heard and shape decisions well before control of the RMC formally passes to you.

We’re here to support you, keep you informed, and make sure your estate is always a place you’re proud to call home, but if you have further questions about your Residents Management Company please do contact your estate manager.
