Barking Riverside Shines Bright with Community Christmas Tree Celebration

Festivities have officially begun at the Barking Riverside estate following a grand unveiling of a 22-foot Christmas tree in Station Square.

We were thrilled to support the estate’s seasonal centrepiece, and our team worked closely with trusted partners to ensure the tree’s safe delivery and secure installation, so everything was ready for the community’s much-anticipated countdown to the light switch-on.

But the evening was about more than just Christmas lights. Families, friends, and neighbours were also treated to brilliant live performances by CentreStage, while complimentary hot chocolate added a comforting touch to the wintry evening.

The highlight of the event though, was the fact that it brought people together in a relaxed and festive atmosphere, demonstrating the sense of connection and community spirit that makes Barking Riverside such a welcoming place to live.

Antony Hanchard, Estate Manager said, “Our team understands that placemaking goes beyond physical infrastructure, it’s about nurturing a sense of belonging. Events like these really do strengthen social ties and help turn places into neighbourhoods.”

An 18ft tree is also in place outside the Rivergate Centre on the same estate, and plans are in place for the lights to be switched on over the coming days. Another great opportunity for a community get-together!
