Supporting Local Scouts' International Adventure

Preim manages several estates in the Locking area, and that’s why - as part of our commitment to local groups and organisations - we were delighted to make a donation to the 1st Locking and Hutton Scout Troop, contributing towards their ambitious fundraising target as they prepare for an exciting international adventure in 2026.

A Proud Local Group with a Long History

The 1st Locking and Hutton Scout Troop has been part of the local community for over 85 years. Originally founded on the former RAF camp, the troop has grown and thrived ever since.

Today, it welcomes children and young people from both Locking and Hutton villages, offering them the chance to learn new skills, take on challenges, and build friendships that last a lifetime.

Many of the troop’s members live on Locking Parklands, one of the estates we manage, which makes this partnership even more special.

Preparing for Switzerland 2026

In 2026, the troop will head to Kandersteg in Switzerland for a week-long jamboree camp. Forty children will take part, joining thousands of scouts from across the world. For many, it will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience international scouting.

To make this possible, the group is aiming to raise £30,000. Alongside generous contributions from local businesses and organisations, the scouts themselves are taking part in activities such as sponsored hikes and fetes. Every donation, large or small, helps bring them closer to their goal.

Helping to Make it Happen

Our contribution will support the cost of travel and camp fees, helping to ease the financial burden on families.

“Community groups like the 1st Locking and Hutton Scout Troop play such an important role in bringing people together and providing opportunities for young people,” said Tom Tracy, Estate Manager at Preim.  “We’re delighted to be able to support their fundraising and help make this once-in-a-lifetime experience possible.”

A Shared Commitment to Community

We’re proud to stand alongside other local supporters in helping the scouts reach their target. Supporting initiatives like this is part of our wider commitment to community development, ensuring the places we manage aren’t just well looked after, but vibrant, connected, and full of opportunities for residents of all ages.

We wish the 1st Locking Scout and Hutton Troop every success with their fundraising journey and can’t wait to follow their adventure to Switzerland in 2026!
